What "Real" means here

Real is the first of our four promises, and it is the one we are asked about most, because everyone has heard a version of the same story: skincare ordered online, arriving in strange packaging, doing nothing, and being impossible to trace.

The scale of the problem is documented. A 2023 investigation by the Korea Consumer Agency found that over 37 percent of Korean beauty products sold on major global marketplaces were unauthorized, grey-market, or counterfeit. On an anonymous marketplace, you cannot tell which listing you are buying from. That is not a knock on any brand; it is the structure of reseller marketplaces.

Our answer is structural too, and we would rather state it precisely than impressively: NUARA sources through Canadian wholesale distributors, with supplier documentation kept on file. Each supplier is asked for its paperwork in writing before we place a first order, and products whose paperwork does not arrive do not get stocked. We keep the shelf short partly for this reason: every product we carry is one we can answer for.

And two promises inside the promise. First, no fake social proof: every review that ever appears on this site will be from a real order, and until real orders exist, you will see no reviews here at all. Second, if you ever want to know the sourcing story of a product on our shelf, ask at hello@nuara.ca and you will get a plain answer.

Real also has a sibling: On time. A real product that misses your event might as well not exist, which is why our kits open weeks before each occasion. The calendar on our homepage is the operating schedule of this store.
